Thick-cutted Potato Chips Recipe

Items Needed
 
5 Large Yukon Gold Potatoes
Vegetable Oil
Residue from Bacon
Salt
Ketchup
 
Instructions
 
Wash the potatoes in cold water.  Slice in to 1/4 inch sixed chips.  Soak in cold water for at least an hour.  Drain and dry the potatoes. Rinsing several times to remove excess starch.  Add vegetable oil and bacon residue to a fryer.  Heat to 325 degrees F.  Place potatoes into the fryer and cook 5 minutes.  Remove potatoes from the fryer.  Place on a tray to drain oil.  Put back in the fryer and fry until golden brown color starts to appear.  Remove from fryer and place on a draining rack.  Serve with salt and ketchup.
